STREET STOCKS 2010 RULES
1. SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
Rules apply at all times car is on track. Snell-rated SA95 or SA2000
helmet required. Roll bar padding required in driver compartment
(Fire retardant recommended). SFI-approved full fire suit, fire
retardant neck brace, gloves and shoes required. Recommended: Fire
retardant head sock and underwear; head and neck restraints;
collapsible steering shaft. Driver-side window net or arm
restraints, required, minimum 16"x20" ribbon or mesh style, and must
be mounted so latch is at top front of window. Minimum three-inch
wide five point safety belt assembly required, must be mounted
securely to roll cage, recommended to be no more than Three years
old. Kill switch required within easy reach of driver and must be
clearly marked ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’. HEEL TO TOE, GAS PEDAL. RECOMMENDED.
2. FRAME: Any American OEM full body rear wheel drive
passenger car, 1955 or newer, full frame or unibody. Frame must
match body. Minimum 101-inch wheelbase, maximum one inch difference
from side to side. Unibodies must tie rear frame to front frame.
Frames may be “X” braced. Domestic passenger cars only. Station
wagons not allowed. Rear wheel drive cars only. ELCAMINO'S OK.
3. ROLL CAGE: REQUIRED.
Roll Cage: Required. 6 point cage, main cage 1.75 X .095 .
1.500 on
all other points.
4. DOOR BARS: All door bars and uprights must be minimum
1.75-inch O.D. and .095-inch wall thickness. Minimum three door
bars, both sides, parallel to ground, and perpendicular to driver.
Minimum four uprights tied from frame to top door bar on driver
side, and minimum three uprights on passenger side. Steel door
plates, 18 gauge or .049-inch minimum thickness, must be securely
welded to outside of door bars on driver’s side. Plate must cover
area from top door bar to rocker panel and from rear down post to
five inches in front of seat. Must be visible for inspection.
5. BODY: STOCK APPEARING BODY. MUST HAVE OEM PANELS
6. DRIVER COMPARTMENT: Minimum three windshield bars in front
of driver. Aluminum high-back seat only, bolted to roll cage. Driver
seat may be no further back than rear edge of B-pillar. Driver must
be sealed off from track, driveline, engine and fuel cell.
7. FRONT SUSPENSION: STOCK. OEM IN THE STOCK LOCATION FOR
YEAR AND MODEL.
No
aftermarket control arms.
8. STEERING: UNALTERED FOR YEAR AND MODEL.
9. SHOCKS: One unaltered steel, non-take
apart, OEM-mount shock, in OEM location, per wheel.
10. SPRINGS: One steel spring per wheel only in OEM location.
All coil springs must be minimum 4.5-inches O.D. and
non-progressive.
11. REAR SUSPENSION:
All components must be steel, unaltered, OEM type, in
OEM location, no weight jacks, pull bars, fifth arms, or aftermarket
trailing arms of any kind, no leaf spring sliders.
12. REAR END:
Stock
rear ends only no quick change floaters, ford 9 inch rear ends ok in
any type car, mini spools ok welding of the spider gears ok, rear
end must remain in stock location, lowering blocks ok for leaf
springs.
13. BUMPERS/RUB RAILS: FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS, STOCK
APPEARING.
14. TIRES/WHEELS: Hoosier' start' all 4 corners. Item
dirt#36103 or 36105. Hoosier A40 or G60
allowed. No softening or conditioning. Tire Grooving an
Sipping is allowed.. Wheels-maximum 8 inch wide, racing wheels
allowed . Reinforcing of stock wheels recommended. Wheel spacers
allowed. No adaptors allowed. Minimum 1/2 inch O.D. wheel studs
recommended. No
bleeder valves. RR Beadlock allowed.
15. BRAKES: Steel, unaltered Hydraulic OEM, or unaltered
Hydraulic OEM replacement, operative four wheel disc (front) and or
drum (rear) brakes, Master cylinder must be in OEM location.
16. EXHAUST: OEM./ cast iron exhaust manifolds only. .
Exhaust must extend past firewall and turn towards ground. Maximum
2-1/4" inch O.D. exhaust pipes.. Mufflers Mandatory, maximum 95
decibels @100 feet.
17. FUEL SYSTEM: . Must remove carburetor choke plate.
CARBURETOR MUST HAVE CHOKE TOWER. OEM STOCK APPEARING CARBURETOR
ONLY. No carb spacer. ADAPTERS ALLOWED. One. Fuel cell required,
must be in minimum 18-gauge steel container. Must be securely
fastened in trunk above level of OEM trunk floor, by minimum of two
.125-inch thick, solid steel straps, two inches wide around entire
cell. Metal firewall must be between driver and fuel cell. All cell
mounts must be steel, securely welded to frame/cage. No adjustable
fuel cell mounts. Fuel cell vents, including cap vent, must have
check valves. Fuel lines through driver compartment must run through
metal pipe or metal conduit. No fuel filters in driver compartment.
No cool cans .Electric fuel pumps must be mounted in trunk. Factory
fuel systems only. FUEL INJECTION ALLOWED ONLY IF STOCK APPLICATION
. MUST HAVE A OIL PRESSURE SWITCH FOR SHUT OFF ON ELECTRIC FUEL
PUMPS.

18. FUEL:
Racing
gas or pump gas no methanol or nos
19. BATTERY/STARTER: One 12-volt passenger car battery only,
must be securely mounted and enclosed in a marine type box. behind
seat or in trunk area. Starter must bolt in OEM location. Must have
capability of starting without being pushed or pulled. Must leave
initial staging area on demand, unaided, or go to rear of that race.
20. GAUGES/ELECTRONICS: No transmitting or listening devices.
OEM ignition only. No electronic traction control devices
No wheel sensors allowed on EFI cars.
21. TRANSMISSION/DRIVE SHAFT: OEM TRANSMISSIONS ONLY. All
forward and reverse gears must be operation Must have approved
scattershield constructed of .125-inch by three-inch steel, 270
degrees around flexplate. All Cars must have scatter shield..
Flexplate must be full, unaltered OEM, or OEM replacement. Must
have torque converter when using an automatic.
Drive shaft: Steel drive shaft (minimum 2.5-inch diameter) and
slip-yokes only. Drive shaft must be painted white. 360-degree
driveshaft loop required and must be constructed of minimum .25-inch
by two-inch solid steel, or one-inch tubing, mounted six inches back
from front U-joint.
22. WEIGHT RULE: 3300 LBS with driver. FUEL INJECTED CARS
MUST WEIGH 3500 LBS WITH DRIVER WITH 200LBS IN FRONT OF FLYWHEEL.
BALLAST. MUST BE PAINTED WHITE WITH NUMBER OF CAR ON WEIGHT .
Must be bolted on to be able to check weight.
23. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS:
No Gm bowtie Ford SVO or Chrysler w-2 blocks
otherwise OEM Blocks only. four barrel carbs ok, no carb spacers,
carb adapters ok 1" maximum, aluminum and marine type intakes not
allowed. OEM cast Iron intakes only, any OEM head (straight plug
with OEM markings on Head, factory production heads only. Head must
come in production vechicle). roller rockers ok, solid or hydraulic
lifters only. no roller lifters . Aluminum water pumps ok, flat
top or dish pistons only, no domed pistons, solid or hydraulic cams
only with a maximum lift of .500. This will be measured at the
retainer, no magnetos, distributors only. OEM or OEM replacement
crankshaft. Any clutch ok, hydraulic throw out bearings ok, torque
converter mandatory for automatics,
24. NUMBERS: The numbers must be at least 20 inches tall. NO
MORE THAN 2 NUMBERS ON BOTH DOORS AND HOOD.
25. TECH OFFICIAL HAS FINAL SAY IN ALL DECISIONS!
Rules may be amended anytime in the interest of
competition.
