THE GROVE 360 SPRINT CLASSIC
APRIL 26th

After some rainy,windy,and even snowy weather kept the drivers off the track and the fans out of the stands for two events the sun was gracious enough to show up to help get the Grove 360 Sprint Classic underway. With Friday being cancelled due to the conditions in the pits the Classic ended up being only a one day show this year. While the event was shortened by a day there was no shortage on quality racing Saturday night. All the tumultuous weather from the previous days created some fast and racy driving conditions which allowed the Grove Classic to stay true to its' name.

With only the 360 Sprints and Limited Sprints on hand, fans had a night full of all out sprint car action. In the Limited event Brandi Bounds continued her early season hot streak. Bounds held off fellow drivers Monte Smith and Steven Horner to notch her second straight Main Event win. The 360 Sprint event featured another driver on an early season hot streak, Roger Crockett, who was able to fend off the other drivers vying for a big-time win at the Grove Classic. Crockett battled local drivers Marvin Smith and Kyle Miller throughout the race, and while Miller kept things interesting most of the race, a right rear flat ended up forcing him out of the contest. Crocket was able to capture the Grove Classic win for the fourth straight time as well as join Bounds atop the weekly podium (again).
