SATURDAY JUNE 28th

The Fourth of July came a week early this year at Cottage Grove Speedway as lightning flashed constantly in the distance Saturday night. Nature's show was quite impressive as it drew “ooh's”, “ahh's” and maybe even some “eek's” from the crowd all night. Luckily there was no wall of fire provided by the skies Saturday. Oh yeah, there was also some racing Saturday night...

Despite yellows early in the Modified Main and some fierce competition from Gus Cooper, Jesse Williamson and Aaron Sheelar, Craig Hanson was able to hang on and pick up his first Modified feature win of the season. Cooper was able to fend off the rest of the pack for second place.

Hedge Carter took an early race lead of the Limited Sprint Main and despite two restarts was able to maintain his lead and hold on for the win. Nate Morelock and Steven Horner fought for second place with Morelock finishing with the advantage over Horner.

For the first time this year, the Micro Sprints made a showing at Cottage Grove Speedway. Their debut featured a main even that was caution-flag free. Kyle Mehner was able to coast to a first place finish while Reece Coetz finished in second.

In the All American Street Stock Main, TJ Langan took an early race lead and never looked back. A battle ensued for second between Jeff Casto, April Howard and Kevin Williamson. Langan finished with the victory while Casto held on for second.

Noel Radway led the pack through lap eight when he was passed by Craig Hanson in the Late Model Main. Hanson was forced to pull off due to mechanical issues and Radway regained the lead. Randy Martin, who had been jockeying for second, was able to make a pass late in the race to grab first from Radway who ended up finishing second.
