In a couple of weeks Karters from across the Pacific Northwest will be on hand for three races in four days at three different tracks in the great state of Oregon for the first ever Summer Sizzle Tour. The events are expected to draw entries from not just Oregon and Washington but California, Idaho, and Montana.

The whole deal will start at the Albany Motorsports Park on Thursday August 15th with the Pit Meeting taking place at 4:45 PM and Hot Laps around 5:00. From there the teams will head south to the Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday the 16th which will have the Pit Meeting start at 6:00 PM followed by Hot Laps. The tour will take Saturday off to rest and recover before taking part in the grand finale that will take place on Sunday the 18th at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon. The Pit Gate is expected to open at 9:00 AM with Hot Laps at 11:00 for the Sunday show.

Kart and Driver entries will be $40.00 at each track (which includes their Pit Pass) along with $10.00 Pit Passes for crew members. Spectators wanting to watch the racing action from the grandstands will get into the show for FREE except for the Albany event. Spectators at Albany get into the races for just $10.00. Also FREE camping will be offered at Willamette Speedway in their designated campground.

All race purses will be determined by kart count in each division except for the race on Sunday at Lebanon. That race will pay $250.00 to win in the 125cc, $300.00 in the 250cc, and $500.00 for the Open Kage. Gift cards, courtesy of Whisler Construction, will be given to the winners in all of the 5HP classifications in addition to their trophies.

A $300.00 bonus will be awarded to any driver that is able to win all three nights in the 125cc, 250cc, or Open Kage divisions. So for teams out there looking for something to do in mid-August come on out and take part in these wonderful three races in four days event.

Also Albany Motorsports Park will host an open practice on Wednesday August 14th. Entry into this event is $25.00 for participants and spectators are FREE. The practice will last from 4:00 PM until Dusk.

Located conveniently off of Interstate 5 Albany Motorsports Park offers a wide range of competition from Karts to Motocross just to name a few. This facility is one of the best when it comes to motorcycles and for the last few years have established a successful karting program.
