Cottage Grove, Oregon- The Cottage Grove Speedway is excited to present the Marvin Smith Memorial Grove Classic this Friday April 25th and Saturday the 26th. This will be the first big race of the 2014 as there are several top 360 Sprint teams from the Pacific Coast that plan on making the journey and it will be ran in honor of the late Marvin Smith a four-time champion at "The Grove". Classes in action on Friday are 360 Sprints, Northwest Extreme Sprints, and Hornets while Saturday will have 360 Sprints, Northwest Extreme Sprints, and Street Stocks.

Roger Crockett, who has one win at CGS in 2014, will look to continue his streak of Grove Classic victories as he has won thirteen straight Grove Classic features dating all the way back to 2004. With $4,100.00 on the line on Saturday night you can be sure there is going to be some fast company showing up to try and put that streak to an end.

The Northwest Extreme Sprints opened up their season last weekend with Dave Hibbard grabbing the victory. Hibbard has won two straight main events at Cottage Grove with the Northwest Extreme Sprint division. With just one race complete this year (April 12th) for the Street Stocks Justin Evans is the only feature winner and the same can be said for the Hornets as Taunton Swaim picked up the victory.

Both days the Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:45. Tickets for each night are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE.
