Cottage Grove, Oregon- Cottage Grove Speedway will be the site of the final two races of the annual Speedweek Northwest on Friday July 4th and Saturday the 5th. The weekend will be presented by the fine folks at Welt & Welt Inc. who are longtime supporters of the historic ¼-mile clay oval. Classes on tap include the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region on Friday July 4th along with the Northwest Extreme Modifieds and Late Models with a huge FIREWORKS display to follow once the racing is over. On Saturday the 5th classes on tap will feature the ASCS-Northwest 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Hornets.

CGS has hosted four ASCS-Northwest Region events already with Seth Bergman winning two while J.J. Hickle and Henry Van Dam have one each. In local competition there have been three point events with Roger Crockett, Henry Van Dam, and Colin Baker making visits to the winner’s circle.

In IMCA Modified competition Braedon Hand and Mark Wauge each have three wins while Jesse Williamson recently captured his fourth career CGS Modified Nationals title on Saturday June 28th. In the Northwest Extreme Modifieds winners this year include Brandon Potter, David Schmidt, and Justin Ryker.

Evan Britton is on a hot streak in the Street Stocks winning the last two main events while Justin Evans is the only other driver to have won twice this season so far. Steve Begely and T.J. Langan have just visited the winner’s circle once this year.

Despite being absent from victory lane in the last few weeks Taunton Swaim lead the Hornet division with an impressive four main event wins. Drivers who have visit the winner’s circle once this campaign include K.C. Scott, Josh Corley, Chris Pierce, and Eric Cooper.

For the 4th of July Night, the Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and Racing starts at 6:45. Ticket prices per event are Adults $17.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $15.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $10.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE. A 2-Day pass will be offered at $30.00.
