For the fourth time this season the Northwest Wingless Tour was in action. The Cottage Grove Speedway would host the NWWT on Saturday July 12th and the historic ¼-mile clay oval would see an intense battle in the main event.

Ozzie Osburn of Springfield would lead the early circuits in the Travis Tomlinson owned Jessica House at Beauty Boutique Salon of Roseburg/T-N-T Diversified #16 Maxim. Osburn would work the bottom of the track as Creswell’s Jesse Thistle operated up top. Thistle, in the RCV Custom Coach Service/William & Mathis Accounting/Cobalt Computer Services/All Around Printing #4 XXX, would secure the lead on lap four.

A stoppage at lap twelve would bunch the field up for the last time and on the ensuing restart Thistle would stay out in front the rest of the way. For Thistle it would be his first career Northwest Wingless Tour victory.

Mike Carrothers of Cottage Grove would place his Carrothers Automotive Machine Shop #18 Maxim in second while the Pro Tow/Beaverton Automotive/Rabourn Performance Engines #50 Eagle of Brad Rhodes from Aloha was third. Kady Adelman of Salem in her Machined For Speed By Craig Jenson/Baxter’s Auto Parts/Brooks True Value #6A Maxim got fourth and in fifth would be fellow Salem chauffeur Tim Alberding in the WSK Machine #52 Maxim.

Earning fast time of the night was Tim Alberding while Kady Adelman picked up the trophy dash victory. The winner of the only heat race was also Adelman. The Northwest Wingless Tour is next in action at Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday July 26th. For the latest news and information log on to wingless.nwextremeseries.com.
