Saturday July 19th the Cottage Grove Speedway will host for the first time ever the Rolling Thunder Big Rigs. These are freight trucks, minus the trailers of course, that will be battling door to door lap after lap on the ¼-mile clay oval. Also on the card will be Northwest Extreme Sprints, Hornets, and Dwarf Cars.

The Rolling Thunder Big Rigs have been scheduled twice before, in 2011 and 2013 to be exact, but each time it was during the month of September and both events were cancelled due to rain. This should be a fun event for everyone to attend and is going to be a must see attraction.

The Northwest Extreme Sprints are back in action with Dave Hibbard and Danny Horner the only two drivers with two victories this year. Jesse Thistle and Orion Redmond have each won once in 2014.

In the Hornets Chris Pierce is on a hot streak winning the last three consecutive features but Taunton Swaim still has the most victories with four. Josh Corley, K.C. Scott, and Eric Cooper each have visited victory lane on one occasion so far this campaign. In the Dwarf Cars Ryan Martinez has managed to win both shows that have been hosted at CGS.

Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and Racing starts at 6:45. Ticket prices are Adults $15.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $8.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE. For more information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com.
