Cottage Grove, Oregon- The Cottage Grove Speedway will be in action one final time on the ¼-mile clay oval on Saturday September 20th for Championship Night #2. The three divisions that will crown champions include the BC Motorsports Northwest Extreme Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, and Hornets. Once all of the racing has concluded a Demolition Derby will take place to close out the evening’s activities.

A great point battle has taken place all year long in the BC Motorsports Northwest Extreme Sprints as Dave Hibbard and Jesse Thistle enter the final leg of action with just eleven markers separating the two with the advantage belonging to Hibbard. Hibbard and Danny Horner have recorded the most wins of the season with three each while Jesse Thistle, Colin Baker, and Orion Redmond have all won once.

Braedon Hand has an impressive five wins over the competition in the IMCA Modified division. Mark Wauge is the only driver to grace victory lane more than once as he has managed three trips while Tom Berry Jr., Nick Trenchard, Jesse Williamson, Alex Stanford, Kinzer Cox, and Collen Winebarger are single feature winners. Hand enters the final race with a thirty-seven point lead seeking his fifth career IMCA Modified championship and second consecutive.

Last but not least the Hornets have an interesting point battle taking place as well. Taunton Swaim and Chris Pierce are separated by only thirteen markers while both have won five mains each Pierce has the advantage going into the final round. Joe Maricle has two wins in 2014 while Josh Corley, Eric Cooper, and K.C. Scott each have won once.

On Saturday Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:45. Tickets for this event are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE.
