Sherwood's Rob Lindsey is set to take on the Western Sprint Tour this weekend. The WST will be in action at Southern Oregon Speedway on Saturday May 23rd followed by the Cottage Grove Speedway on Sunday the 24th. The driver of the Maxline Custom Cases/Summerfield Golf & Country Club/XXX Race Co./Speedmart Inc./Monster Energy Drink #23 XXX is anticipating a great weekend against the Pacific Northwest's best.

“Every time we've been out we've gotten faster, it's been all about set-ups,” said Lindsey, “it's so important to hit the set-up correctly in a wing car and we feel we're on the right track now."

2014 would see Rob jump from Non-Wing Sprints, he was the Northwest Wingless Tour champion in 2013, to Winged Sprints full-time. Unfortunately he would be out of action for a few months due to being involved in a crash on June 13th which resulted in his pelvis being fractured. Since then he's completely healed up and has had no issues. So technically he's still new to the Winged style.

“Every track we go to is new to me with the wing on,” he continued, “I feel comfortable with the baseline setups for these tracks and I'm looking forward to going to Medford on Saturday and back at Cottage Grove on Sunday.”

Lindsey had one start at SOS last year which ended up being a thirteenth place finish in the feature. In three starts at Cottage Grove this season his best result was a eighth in local competition on April 4th.

Southern Oregon Speedway, located in White City, will host the second race of the Western Sprint Tour season on Saturday May 23rd. Tickets are Adults $15.00, Seniors/Veterans $12.00, Juniors (6-12) $10.00, and Children 5 & Under are FREE. The action all starts around 7:00 PM.

Cottage Grove Speedway will be the final stop for the weekend on Sunday May 24th. Tickets are Adults $15.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $13.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $8.00, and 5 & Under FREE. Racing begins around 6:45 PM.
