No one in their right mind would have predicted that after taking ten years off of racing that Kinzer Cox would have had the amount of success he experienced in 2014. Picking up his first career IMCA Modified late last year Cox proved that the win was no mere “flash in the pan” as 2015 has been even better for the Cottage Grove teenager. The pilot of the Robert Howell Logging/Hard Knocks Brewing/Scoggins Creek Coffee/Salisbury Farms/Jerry Robinette Performance Carburetors/BC Motorsports/Jerry Dills Trucking/Brad's Cottage Grove Chevrolet/Razor's Edge Graphic Design/Dirt Monkey Productions #1K Loose Gruff has two main event wins this year at Cottage Grove Speedway and is currently second in local points.

“It's been going pretty good,” stated Cox, “we've ran quite a few races and have already got two wins under our belt.”

Kinzer started his year by racing in California by racing at Silver Dollar Speedway, in Chico, and Yreka's Siskiyou Motor Speedway. He also has venture to Sunset Speedway Park in Banks up by Portland. He hopes to have a good go at it during the Wild West Modified Shootout and prove the whole country that he is a rising star in the Pacific Northwest region.

“We're going to try and do the whole thing,” Kinzer would continue, “I'd like to make every main event and finish in the top five in the final points.”

The 2015 Wild West Modified Shootout kicks off at Southern Oregon Speedway on Saturday June 13th. The tour will wrap things up at Willamette Speedway on the 19th and 20th to close the speedweek out for the second straight year.
