Cottage Grove, Oregon- Cottage Grove native Curtis Towns is looking to accomplish a feat he has never accomplished in his career. That elusive feat is to win the Mark Howard Memorial Cottage Grove Speedway Modified Nationals. Right now he is the current point leader in both the Late Models and IMCA Modifieds.

“It's been pretty good year,” said Towns, “it's went a lot better then I though it would. I thought I'd get a win but to get as many as we have has been great and I can't thank Maria and Paul Culp enough for the opportunity to drive their Late Model.”

Towns has experienced major success in the Paul and Maria Culp owned Superior Fuel Cells/All Pro Steel/Rapid Delivery Services/Superior Silk Screen & Embroidery #42 X-Factor Late Model with five wins in only nine starts. In IMCA Modified competition he has managed to visit victory lane on one occasion but has put together eight top five finishes in only ten starts. The team will be very busy but are excited for a chance to win the coveted Mod Nationals in their Superior Fuel Cells/IBEW Local 280/Valley Rose Construction/West End Performance #24 X-Factor.

“The goal is definitely to win this deal that would definitely be awesome,” Towns continued, “even a top five would be great.”

Admission prices both nights are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, and 5 & Under FREE. Times for each race are Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45.
