Cottage Grove, Oregon- Kinzer Cox has had a roller coaster month. The Cottage Grove teenager seemed to be unbeatable for a number of weeks before the annual Wild West Modified Shootout. But the Modified Speedweek would be rough outing for him and Kinzer managed to finish just one main event.

“We actually didn't finish a race during Speedweek except for the one at Cottage Grove so it definitely was a rough one,” commented Cox, “ we got the win a week after and seemed like things were going good but last weekend we blew the motor early in the night scrambled to put something together and ended up eighth.”

As he mentioned all of the misfortunes appeared to be in the rear view mirror after Speedweek when they would be victorious on June 27th. But on July 3rd mechanical problems early in the night would put his engine out of commission, or so they thought. The Robert Howell Logging/Hard Knocks Brewing/Scoggins Creek Coffee/Salisbury Farms/Jerry Robinette Performance Carburetors/BC Motorsports/Jerry Dills Trucking/Brad's Cottage Grove Chevrolet/Razor's Edge Graphic Design/Dirt Monkey Productions #1K Loose Gruff didn't give up and managed to get Kinzer out for the feature which ended up being an eight place result. Now Cox faces another big challenge with the upcoming Mark Howard Memorial Cottage Grove Speedway Modified Nationals on Friday July 10th and Saturday the 11th.

“Just to make the A Main would be great,” continued Cox, “we get a chance to race in the Race Of Champions on Friday so that will be some important track time. We're going to give it our best shot and see if we can pull off a top ten or top five.”

Admission prices both nights are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, and 5 & Under FREE. Times for each race are Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45.
