Cottage Grove Speedway Returns For Couples Night On Saturday July 9th
By Ben Deatherage
Cottage Grove, Oregon- After hosting an extremely exciting night of racing on Independence Day the Cottage Grove Speedway is back at it on Saturday, July 9th for Couples Night. The special promotion for this weekend is 2 for 1 General Admission. Classes on the card include the Clark Printing Extreme Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and the Quality RV Repair Hornets.

The Clark Printing Sprints have had two drivers win twice in 2016. Patrick Dills and Dusty Redmond are the only two-time winners so far while drivers with just one triumph include Ricky Ashley, Dave Hibbard, and most recently Orion Redmond.

Mark Wauge still has the most IMCA Modified wins at Cottage Grove this year. Wauge has managed to visit victory lane three times while drivers who have done so twice are Collen Winebarger, Craig Hanson, Jesse Williamson, and Jake Mayden. Curtis Towns, Kinzer Cox, and Kellen Chadwick have earned just one win each.

In the IMCA Sport Mods Jorddon Braaten has mastered CGS with four victories. Jimmy Lipke and Chris Frisbie are the only two drivers to have won once.

With his Monday night victory, Kevin Williamson is tied with Chris Sine for most wins. Sine and Williamson both have had two visits to the winner’s circle while Evan Britton and Kyle Yeack are the only one-time winners.

Last but not least the Quality RV Repair Hornets have witnessed a resurgence out of Joe Maricle. Marcile is by far the car to beat with six wins total, including the last three consecutive mains. Josh Corley has four while K.C. Scott and Brad Moffett each have one.

Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, and Racing is scheduled to start around 6:30.
