CGS To Host Action On Saturday September 13th; Four Champions To Be Crowned

CGS To Host Action On Saturday September 13th; Four Champions To Be Crowned

Cottage Grove, Oregon- Cottage Grove Speedway only have two races left in 2014 and four champions will be declared this Saturday September 13th for the first of two championship weekends. Classes in competition include the Huddle Automotive Repair 360 Sprints, Late Models, Northwest Extreme Modifieds, and Street Stocks.

Roger Crockett has the most wins in 2014 at CGS in Huddle Automotive Repair 360 Sprints with three victories with two being recorded in the last two events. Drivers with two wins include Henry Van Dam and Seth Bergman. Single feature winners are Colin Baker, J.J. Hickle, Kyle Hirst, and Logan Forler. Colin Baker is the point standings leader with one race to go.

Shaun Mayea leads the points and the win column headed into the last leg of Late Model competition at CGS. Shaun Mayea has four wins while his uncle Rob has three. Blaine Taylor and Mark Carrell have one win apiece.

Gene Ashley is the only driver to win more than once in the Northwest Extreme Modifieds with two victories in his last two starts. Braedon Hand, David Schmidt, Justin Ryker, Brandon Potter, and current point leader Scott Akin have all won once.

Evan Britton, like Shaun Mayea, is both point and main event wins leader in his respective class, the Street Stocks. Britton has won five times while Justin Evans has three trips to victory lane. Steve Begley, T.J. Langan, Andrew Langan, and Jody Tanner have one win to their credit.

On Saturday Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:45. Tickets for this event are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE.
