Cottage Grove, Oregon- After taking last weekend off for the Western Oregon Exposition the Cottage Grove Speedway will be back in action on Saturday August 22nd. The historic 1/4-mile clay oval will be returning one of it's famed races from decades ago, the Logger's Cup. This race has not been ran since the early 1990's and was a popular event when Super Stocks still competed at CGS.

The Late Model main event is $1,500.00 to win for Late Models and we would like to thank Mr. Rick Daniels for boosting up the purse. In addition to the Late Models the Northwest Wingless Tour, IMCA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and the Northwest Focus Midget Series, for their one and only appearance, will all be in action.

Curtis Towns has gotten the job done in the Late Model class this year. Towns has won seven races in his first full season in a Late Model for car owner Paul Culp. Jesse Williamson is the only other multi-race winner with three trips to victory lane. Single race victors include Joey Tanner, Bricen James, Justin Duty, and Brady Sell.

The Northwest Wingless Tour has paid two trips to CGS in 2015. Kyle Miller and Cooper Desbiens were the two drivers to hoist the trophy on high. Will there be a third different winner this Saturday?

Gene Ashley is still on top of the win chart of the IMCA Sport Mods. Ashley has accrued four wins in seven starts and is the only driver to win more then once. Kolby Clay, Jordan Braaten, and Jimmy Owen have one win.

Chris Sine has been the dominant force in the Street Stocks. Sine has parked his mount in the winner's circle on seven occasions. Three drivers have managed to beat him. Those include Steve Dubisar, Evan Britton, and Wallbanger Cup winner Kyle Yeack with all three obtaining one win each.

Admission prices are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, 5 & Under FREE, and a Family Pass (consisting of two adults and up to four youths) is $30.00. Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45. For more information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com.
