Cottage Grove, Oregon- Saturday April 9th is the night where the 2016 season will commence at Cottage Grove Speedway. One of the classes on the card to participate is the Quality RV Repair Hornets. With Chris Pierce stepping away from racing full time it gives a chance for a possible new champion in the division. In fact, when Pierce won the title last year he became the first driver to win more than one championship in the class at CGS since it was started in 2011.

The Quality RV Repair Hornets will be quite busy during the upcoming campaign as they are on the schedule for 23 events. With several drivers moving up to different classes, as well as some new faces coming in, it really is a mystery as to who will obtain the crown. Josh Corley, K.C. Scott, Joe Maricle, and Brandon Letsom are just a few names that have been really impressive over the last few years.

In the five seasons that the Quality RV Repair Hornets have existed at Cottage Grove there has been four different champions. Chris Pierce obviously has had the most success at the historic ¼-mile clay oval with his back-to-back championship in 2014 and 2015. Other champs include Shawn Hand (2011), Tom Jeannot (2012), and Joe Maricle (2013).

In honor of Cottage Grove Speedway’s 60th Anniversary the first 60 fans through the front gate get in for FREE. Pit Gates open at 1:00, Front Gates 4:00, and Racing starts at 6:30. Tickets are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youth (6-12) - $5.00, Family Pass $30.00, and Children 5 or under are FREE. Pit Passes will be offered for $30.00 each.
