Cottage Grove Speedway would host the Western Sprint Tour on Friday April 24th despite rain showers all around the area the track stayed dry all night long. In addition to the 360 Sprints the Late Models and Street Stocks were in action.

Brian Thompson of Lebanon made the long trip down and was the car to beat in the Crocker's Cars/Brownsville Calf Ranch/Burk Logging #44T Swartz. Thompson would lead the first seven laps before being overtaken by Curtis Towns. Towns, of Cottage Grove and driving the Paul Culp owned Superior Fuel Cells/All Pro Steel/Rapid Delivery Service #42 X-Factor, would go on to win the main event and visit Huddle Automotive Repair Victory Lane for the third straight time this season.

Brian Thompson was a respectable second followed by the My Boy's Slate Fired Pizza/Taylor's Restaurant Equipment #18 MasterSbilt of Pleasant Hill driver Blaine Taylor. The rest of the top five would be made up of the Lucas Oil Products/Sierra Ridge Cabinetry/Ron Peters Cabinets #88 Swartz of Cottage Grove's Mike Peters in fourth and his brother, Ed of Eugene, in his Lucas Oil Products/Reddy Ice/Sierra Ridge Cabinetry #78 Swartz in fifth.

Curtis Towns was the Jim's Tire Factory Fast Time Award winner while Mike Peters was the victor in the Dot's Trophy Shop Trophy Dash. Towns was the winner of the one and only heat race.

In the Street Stocks the D&L Truck Parts/Robert Howell Logging/Clark Printing #85 Nova of Evan Britton was quite dominant. However the Cottage Grove teenager would spin on lap nine while leading handing over the top spot to Eugene's Chris Sine. Britton would reclaim the lead on lap eleven but just as he was coming to the white flag he would spin on the front stretch.

Chris Sine would make the pass Britton as the race would stay green. Sine would lead the final lap and capture his first career Cottage Grove Speedway victory in a long overdue trip to Huddle Automotive Repair victory lane.

Evan Britton would finish second. Britton was the winner of the heat race as well as the Dot's Trophy Shop Trophy Dash.
